Multi-Modal Operations Coordinator

Location: Dyce, Aberdeen
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm

Our client is looking to recruit a Multi-Modal Operations Coordinator to join their busy operations team based in Dyce, Aberdeen. This is an office-based position supporting both freight forwarding and customs operations, making it an excellent opportunity for someone with customs clearance experience looking to develop their career within a growing freight forwarding business.

Following successful completion of probation, there may be the opportunity to participate in an on-call rota.

Please note this is a fully office-based role. Working from home and flexible working hours are not available.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate import and export freight shipments across multiple transport modes.
Prepare and complete customs declarations using CDS.
Ensure all customs documentation is accurate and compliant with current regulations.
Carry out customs control checks whilst supporting the Freight Forwarding & Customs Manager.
Complete job file administration accurately and within required timescales.
Liaise with customers, suppliers, carriers and internal departments via telephone, email and in person.
Prepare freight quotations for import and export shipments where required.
Maintain accurate shipment records using the company's freight management system.
Ensure shipments are managed efficiently whilst meeting customer deadlines.
Provide a high level of customer service throughout the shipment lifecycle.

Requirements

Previous experience working within a freight forwarding operations role.
Essential experience completing customs declarations using CDS.
Good understanding of UK customs procedures and compliance.
Experience within import and/or export operations.
Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Confident using freight forwarding software and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience using MultiFreight would be advantageous, although training will be provided.
Experience preparing freight quotations would be beneficial but is not essential.

Package

Salary of £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience.
