Description:
Elvet Recruitment are supporting a main contractor delivering a Newcastle‑based education project and seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to take ownership of day‑to‑day site delivery over a 3‑month period. This role suits someone confident running sites independently, maintaining programme, safety and quality on a fast‑paced build.
The Role
*
Oversee daily site operations and coordinate subcontractors.
*
Maintain progress against programme and manage site logistics.
*
Lead site inductions, briefings, RAMS and permit control.
*
Ensure compliance with HSE standards and company procedures.
*
Manage quality checks, snagging and site documentation.
*
Liaise with the Project Manager, client reps and design team.
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Site Manager for a main contractor.
*
SMSTS & CSCS (Manager’s card preferred).
*
Strong organisational and communication skills.
*
Ability to run a site autonomously and keep works on track.
*
Available immediately or at short notice.
