Freelance Quantity Surveyor - Construction
Main Contractor Experience Essential Milton Keynes (Office Based)
Our client, a successful and growing Main Contractor, is seeking an experienced Contract Quantity Surveyor to join their Milton Keynes office on a contract basis.
Due to a high volume of live and upcoming opportunities, they require additional commercial support to assist with the preparation and submission of multiple construction tenders. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working within a fast-paced pre-construction environment and can provide immediate value to a busy commercial team.
The Role
Working closely with the Commercial Director, Estimators, and Senior Management Team, you will play a key role in supporting the tendering process across a variety of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements
* Producing take-offs and assisting with cost planning
* Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
* Supporting the preparation of competitive and commercially sound tender submissions
* Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions
* Assisting with pricing reviews and tender adjudications
* Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal stakeholders
* Supporting the smooth handover of successful bids into project delivery teams
* Working across multiple tenders simultaneously to meet submission deadlines
You will be...
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
* Previous experience working for a Main Contractor is essential
* Strong understanding of the tendering and pre-construction process
* Experience pricing a range of construction projects
* Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a busy environment
* Strong communication and negotiation skills
* Available immediately or at short notice preferred
