A Contract position Outside IR35

2 days pw on site in Cambridgeshire

Our client is seeking an experienced FPGA & DSP Engineer for a contract role. This exciting opportunity involves working on cutting-edge medical and sensing applications. The successful candidate will possess robust skills in HDL and the AMD Vivado toolchain, with solid experience in digital signal processing.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality FPGA/DSP designs and implementations with minimal supervision
Contribute to technical discussions, design reviews, and project planning
Engage with clients on a technical level, including pre-contract scoping discussions
Potentially lead and mentor junior colleagues
Work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
Identify and raise technical risks or concerns in a timely manner
Communicate progress clearly and maintain appropriate technical documentationCandidate will need to be up-to-speed in some of the areas below:

- JESD204C implementation (coherent multi-channel up to 500Msps)

- GT transceiver use, multi-channel >10Gbps

- 40G/100G Ethernet (fibre)

- High speed SoC PLtoPS DMA datalogging engine - including ability to contribute to Linux driver development.

- Resource constrained (fit) high throughput FFT channels

- System controllers (board management without processor).

Job Requirements:

Experience with FPGA platforms, particularly AMD (Xilinx) silicon and Zynq SoC devices
Proficiency in HDL and the AMD Vivado toolchain for simulation and testing
Significant experience in digital signal processing, with knowledge of RF systems as an advantage
Ability to translate customer requirements into robust FPGA-based implementations
Experience working in a multidisciplinary team involving hardware, software, and systems engineers
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively

Personal Attributes:

Comfortable within a consultancy environment, ideally with prior consultancy experience
Self-motivated, with a willingness to take ownership of work
A strong desire to learn with a view to continuous professional development
