We require an Assessing Social Worker, working in the Fostering Service. The right candidate must have Fostering knowledge, and proven assessment experience and skills.

The role

Complete fostering assessments of connected carers and mainstream carers.

Work closely with families you assess and support them to attend fostering panel.

Complete special guardianship assessments to enable the children to achieve legal permanence.

Be part of a duty rota, undertaking viability assessments and initial visits to applicants.

Support with recruitment events for the fostering service.

Support and facilitate skills to foster training on a rota basis

Attend permanency planning meetings, which will inform assessments and care planning.

Work closely with the team, children’s social workers, and multi agencies.

* DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work

* Social Work England registration

* Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.

* Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.

* Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups.

* Possess knowledge of service needs.

* Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.

* Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.

* Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
