About The Role
Morrison Energy Services is recruiting for a Foreman to work on our UK Power Networks contract in Hertfordshire. 

As a Foreman you will be a part of our Substation Build Team who deliver UKPN's 11kV to 132kV Network, refurbishing and building new switchouses and transformer enclosures with associated switchgear, transformers and cabling. In this fast-paced role, you’ll coordinate and supervise construction activities from commencement through to final completion, acting as the principal contact for the client.
Morrison Energy Services is proud to be a key partner in the UKPN Alliance, delivering substation build and refurbishment works across the East of England including design, project management, cable installation, building construction, jointing, switchgear, bunding, commissioning, decommissioning and demolition.
As the Foreman your responsibilities will include:

Undertake role of Site Person in Charge when required
Complete Daily Site Risk Assessment as required
Carry out Site Inductions as required
Write SPA’s (Safe Plan of Action), Permit to Dig as required
Ensure Method Statements and Risk Assessments are relevant and available for the task being Undertaken
Assist the Site Manager with onsite direction and leadership for all site staff
Ensure site staff fully understand the task they are undertaking, this may be through regular visits to the work area and questioning of staff
Ensure site staff are working in a safe and responsible manor
Liaise with Site Manager to ensure sufficient staff are allocated to a task
Ensure correct tools and plant are used for the task
With the Site Manager plan ahead to ensure that sufficient time, materials, resources and plant are available for works to continue safely and without disruption
Will have the ability to assist in the ordering of sundry materials to progress works via the Oracle system
Will have sufficient understanding of the relevant Health and Safety Risks relating to the task
If in charge of more than one working party the Foreman may act in a supervisory role only, depending on the complexity of the tasks being undertaken
With the Site Manager, ensure site staff have the suitable Competence to undertake the task being requested of them
With the Site Manager, ensure all site staff are fully utilized and have sufficient knowledge of the overall site programme and the time allowances for the individual tasks
With the Site Manager, ensure all site operatives are aware and conform to site times i.e. Start, Finish and Break times
Ensure that tasks completed on site are to an acceptable level of quality and snag free
Complete Quality forms as required
Motivate site staff to work safely and take pride in the works they are undertaking Skills & Knowledge Requirements

CITB Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)

A background in construction and the electricity industry
Competency to work in Substations up 132kV
Knowledge of current legislation relating to Health, Safety and Environment
IT literate, specifically in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Hold a full valid driving license
