About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Foreman to join our growing Civil Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with a strong background in civil engineering projects, including drainage, reinforced concrete (RC), earthworks, water, and highways works.

You will play a key role in overseeing site operations, coordinating multiple gangs, maintaining high health and safety standards, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily site operations across a range of civil engineering activities.

Lead and motivate site teams, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to programme.

Deliver daily briefings, toolbox talks, and site inspections.

Ensure all RAMS are communicated, understood, and fully implemented.

Monitor site health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance at all times.

Ensure all operatives are using the correct PPE and following safe systems of work.

Report and document near misses, accidents, incidents, and changing site conditions.

Coordinate labour, materials, plant, and equipment to maintain productivity.

Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work plans to guide site teams.

Work closely with Site Managers, Engineers, subcontractors, and clients.

Maintain accurate site records and submit weekly timesheets.

Identify and resolve problems on site while maintaining quality standards.

Manage multiple gangs and support the development of junior operatives and supervisors.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Foreman within Civil Engineering.
Strong background in drainage, reinforced concrete, earthworks, water, and highways projects.

Excellent understanding of health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Strong leadership and people management skills.

Excellent communication and organisational abilities.

Ability to coordinate labour, plant, and materials effectively.

Experience producing site records and completing administrative tasks.

A proactive approach to problem-solving and project delivery.

Desirable Qualifications

SSSTS or SMSTS

First Aid at Work

CSCS Card

Relevant plant tickets and industry certifications
