Job Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Food Technology Teacher to join our team on a maternity cover basis from September. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons in food preparation, nutrition, and culinary skills to students aged 11-16. The role involves planning and delivering dynamic lessons that cater to a range of abilities, fostering a love for food and promoting healthy eating habits among our students.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver creative and stimulating lessons in line with the national curriculum.
Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to engage and motivate students.
Provide constructive feedback to students to support their progress and development.
Create a safe and inclusive learning environment conducive to practical food preparation.
Manage resources effectively and maintain a well-equipped food technology classroom.
Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the wider success of the department and school community.Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Specialism or strong background in Food Technology or related field.
Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level is desirable but not essential.
Passion for promoting healthy eating and practical cooking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
