Description:

GSL Education is seeking a energetic and dedicated Design and Technology and Food Technology Teacher to join a school within Birmingham particularly around Great Barr, Perry Barr and West Bromwich areas. This role starts from September 2024 for 12 months – Monday to Friday.

Food Technology & Design and Technology Teacher

Location: Birmingham

Pay: £130 – 160 per day

The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver quality teaching that drives achievement and inspires a love of learning. You will be able to demonstrate experience of achieving positive outcomes for students, as well as being passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people. As a committed team player, you will have excellent organisational skills and the natural ability to motivate both pupils and peers.

Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver dynamic lessons in Design and Technology and Food Technology, incorporating both theoretical concepts and practical applications.
Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
Differentiate instruction to accommodate the varying learning styles and abilities of students.
Assess student progress effectively through formative and summat assessments, providing constructive feedback to support growth.
Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development of curriculum materials, schemes of work, and enrichment activities.
Engage with parents and caregivers to provide regular updates on student progress and promote a positive home-school partnership.
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Specialism in either Design and Technology or Food Technology, with demonstrable expertise in the subject area.
Experience teaching Design and Technology and/or Food Technology at the secondary level (desirable).
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
Flexibility and willingness to cover lessons in both Design and Technology and Food Technology departments as needed.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for lifelong learning.
