We are recruiting a Food & Beverage Assistant Manager to join our client near Newark on a Permanent, Full Time basis.

Our client runs a wide scale of events, right the way from small meetings and conferences up to over 15,000 guests for the county show, so you'll need to be very flexible in your approach, as your role will vary greatly depending on the event.

On a usual event day, you'll be:
– Taking a frontline role in all operational aspects of running the event
– Regular check-ins with all functioning departments, troubleshooting any issues and making sure staff are engaged
– Managing guest expectations
– Acting as a Duty Manager on the events, being a point of contact for anything the client might require
– Acting as department manager (such as Restaurant Manager, Bar Manager, Kitchen Manager) where operational needs require
– Leading the large team of staff by example, providing relevant training and supervision where needed
– Dealing with any Health & Safety matters that may arise
– And any other duties that may arise within the scope of the event

You'll be contracted to 42.5hrs per week, therefore when events are not running, you will be assisting with menu planning, forecasting required stock and provisions for all departments and other general office support.

What we're looking for:
– A very flexible approach, you'll be an integral part of running the event, you'll need to get stuck in and help on the frontline.
– A strong background in the Food & Beverage, Hospitality & Catering, Restaurant or Events sectors
– A positive attitude to be able to encourage good performance from the team
– Food Hygiene, First Aid, menu planning and Health & Safety skills and experience would all be beneficial if you have them
