We are recruiting on behalf of one of the UK's leading distributors of timber, wood-based panels and decorative surface materials. With decades of industry experience, our client supplies high-quality products to the construction, manufacturing, joinery and furniture industries and is renowned for investing in both its people and its facilities.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced FLT Warehouse Operative / Timber Panel Picker to join their busy warehouse operation in Wakefield.
The Role
This is a hands-on warehouse role where you'll be responsible for operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck, picking timber and wood panel products, and preparing customer orders for dispatch. You will initially complete your training on the day shift before moving permanently onto the afternoon shift.
Training Period: DAYS - Monday to Thursday 6:30am to 3:30pm / Friday 6:30am to 3pm
Permanent Shift (upon completion of training):
Monday – Thursday: 2:30pm – 11:59pm
Friday: 2:30pm – 8:00pm
Working in a fast-paced environment, you'll play a key role in ensuring customer orders are picked accurately and safely while maintaining high standards of housekeeping and health and safety.
Skills:
Valid Counterbalance FLT licence (RTITB, ITSSAR or equivalent).
Previous warehouse experience.
Experience working with timber, sheet materials or other bulky products is highly desirable.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
Reliable with an excellent work ethic.
A team player with a positive attitude
