Warehouse Operative / Counterbalance Forklift Driver
Location: Bedford
Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, from 7:00am
Contract: Temp-to-Perm
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Operative / Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join a busy and growing team in Bedford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hardworking individual with previous warehouse and counterbalance forklift experience who is looking for stable, long-term employment with the potential to secure a permanent position.
Working Monday to Friday with an early 7:00am start, you will play an important role in the safe handling, preparation and movement of materials across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out a range of general warehouse duties.
Loading and unloading materials safely and efficiently.
Operating a counterbalance forklift.
Operating machinery, including a band saw for cutting metal.
Preparing, handling and moving materials around the site.
Driving a company van when required.
Ensuring the warehouse and working areas are kept clean, tidy and safe.
Following all company health and safety policies and procedures.
Carrying out manual handling duties safely and responsibly.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence – essential.
A full UK Driving Licence – essential.
Previous warehouse experience.
Experience operating machinery, or the confidence to learn new equipment.
A good understanding of workplace health and safety.
The physical fitness required for manual handling and warehouse duties.
A reliable, punctual and hardworking approach.
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
