Rochester, Kent

£13.80 per hour | Overtime at Time + 25% | 45 Hours Per Week | Permanent

Major Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a well-established and growing business within the food and agricultural sector to recruit an experienced FLT Driver for their busy operations team based in Rochester, Kent.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Driver to join a successful business and play an important role in the smooth running of their packhouse, warehouse and storage operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of stock, packaging materials and finished products, while supporting production teams and ensuring day-to-day operations run efficiently.

The Role:

As an FLT Driver, you will be responsible for the safe movement and handling of stock and materials throughout the site.

Duties will include:

Operating forklift trucks safely and efficiently
Loading and unloading vehicles
Moving stock, pallets and materials throughout the warehouse, packhouse and storage areas
Supporting production teams by ensuring materials are available when required
Carrying out daily forklift checks and reporting any faults or defects
Ensuring stock is stored correctly and safely
Maintaining accurate records and following stock control procedures
Adhering to all health and safety, food safety and company policies
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
Assisting with general warehouse and operational duties as required

Working Hours:

45 hours per week, across 5 working days
5 days worked across 7 days on a rota basis
Weekend working will be required
Flexibility required between 07:00 and 00:00 in peak period
Typical working hours are approximately 07:00 - 17:00/19:00
Overtime available after 45 hours

Pay:

Starting rate of £13.80 per hour
Overtime paid at Time + 25% after 45 hours (£17.25ph)
45 hours per week

Requirements:

Essential

Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence
Must be able to provide evidence of your FLT licence at interview
Previous forklift driving experience
Experience within a warehouse, manufacturing, agricultural or food production environment
Good awareness of health and safety procedures
Reliable, punctual and hardworking
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexible approach to working hours, particularly during busy periods
