Flood Risk Engineer
Location: Cardiff
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
A growing consultancy is looking for a Flood Risk Engineer with around 3 years' experience to join their Cardiff team. This is an excellent opportunity for a flood risk professional looking to develop their technical skills while working on a varied range of projects across Wales and the wider UK.
The Role:
Preparing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies
Undertaking flood risk assessments for residential, commercial and infrastructure projects
Supporting surface water and drainage design, including SuDS
Carrying out hydrology and hydraulic assessments
Liaising with clients, local authorities, Natural Resources Wales and other stakeholders
Producing technical reports and supporting planning applications
Contributing to flood alleviation and sustainable drainage projects
Working closely with wider civil engineering and environmental teamsThe Candidate:
Around 3 years' experience within flood risk, drainage or water consultancy
Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline
Experience producing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies
Knowledge of UK flood risk policy and relevant guidance
Experience with hydraulic modelling software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW or InfoWorks ICM would be beneficial
Strong technical report writing and communication skills
