The service you will work in….
Kingston Mental Health service provides accommodation and also floating support to adults aged 18+ with low to medium-level mental health needs. The service operates with collaboration at its heart, working directly with service users to promote independence and wellbeing with an ultimate focus on recovery. All service users are in control of their recovery and staff support individuals at a pace that suits the user.
A day in this role looks like….
As a Floating Support Worker at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in the our Mental Health Service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.
A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:
Be responsible for developing, supporting, maintaining independent living skills and general wellbeing and maximising independence of a specific group of up to 15 Service Users within the service and minimise unplanned and emergency hospital admissions.
Use organisational needs, risk and aspiration-based assessment tools with the Service User to gain a clear understanding of their individual situation to ensure the delivery of a personalised service.
Assess and support Service Users with mental health and a range of other needs and develop co-productive way of working by focusing not just on Service
Formulate, implement and review personalised, client-focused SMART support plans with Service Users and associated professional participation to develop, review and achieve goals and aspirations.
Utilise catch-up sessions with Service Users to enable them to develop, sustain and maximise independence, maintain abstinence and enjoy a good quality of life and motivate them in all aspects of daily living.
Deliver a flexible, dynamic, proactive, and responsive service according to client needs which may include work outside of ordinary office hours including weekends and evenings.
Engage in activities which support their physical and mental wellbeing including meaningful day time activities and maintaining healthy relationships.
Support Service Users to access appropriate treatment services within the local community such as Substance Misuse Services and accompanying them if appropriate.

We are looking for candidates who bring a combination of passion, expertise, and dedication to the table. To excel in this role, you should possess:
Experience of working with people with a range of different support needs, aspirations for their future and associated risks.
Experience of delivering high quality floating, outreach or accommodation-based support services to people with a range of needs and risks.
Good knowledge of welfare benefits and housing options and legislation related to statutory duty.
Knowledge of health and safety relevant to role as a Floating Support Worker and working in Service User's homes.
Good understanding of the range of issues, diagnoses and treatment relevant to the client group including substance misuse.
Ability to travel throughout the Borough of operation.
Previous experience of using computer-based systems to accurately record work and client details
Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
