Description:

The Harmony House Family are recruiting!

We are a 34 bed home split into two areas. One area supports 11 individuals with learning disabilities and dementia. The main part of the building supports 23 adults with mental health diagnosis who we supported following hospital discharges. We provide a step down from hospital, transitioning individuals back into the community.

At Salutem Care and Education, we recognise the value and wisdom that come from all stages of life. Join our team to be a part of a community that truly appreciates the richness of age diversity.

Some of the individuals we support include David, who loves helping out in the garden and Joan loves helping us in the office filing paperwork! All of the individuals we support are usually up for a party, we’ve thrown everything from a hoedown to celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee! We love bingo, all things music, oh and we absolutely love making pizzas! We achieve all this and much more thanks to our team who believe in us all and help us to overcome any challenges we face day to day.

If you’re looking for a job that’s meaningful where you can make a difference - then it’s time to apply and help us live our best lives.

Now we've shared a glimpse of what it's like to work for us, let us introduce ourselves. We’re Salutem and we are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of thousands of children and adults in England and Wales across our residential homes, schools and day centres. Our dedicated support teams empower individuals to overcome any obstacles and live the life they choose.

Each day will be different, and the main focus of your role is to provide daily support to adults in our residential services. It’s definitely not a normal 9-5, you can work days, nights, and flexible shifts too.

Requirements for role:

Ability to work alone or as part of a team to help improve the quality of life of the people we support.
Good communication skills and engage effectively with residents. Supporting with daily living tasks, activities, personal care and nutrition.
Must have an understanding of adult health and social care and or working towards a level 2.
Must be willing to undertake training to suit the needs of the service which will include diagnosis of service users should this be required.
Must have a good understanding of the needs of the service users and be able to manage challenges within the service effectively should they arise.
To be able to work on digital appliances for documentation and recording and undertaking online training sessions when needed. We want the best for everyone we support and that's what makes us a family. If you have the ability to support someone to feel at home, be their true self, and do what makes their heart happy - we want to hear from you. This is a meaningful role and will suit someone who is looking to make a difference and make memories that'll last a lifetime.

We know our staff put 100% into building brighter futures for the individuals we support. That's why we offer career progression no matter where you start in the organisation. Your progress here will be regularly reviewed and as you gain expertise your rate of pay will increase. We believe in creating a Career from Care and we want the support workers we recruit now to become our managers of the future!

In regards to benefits, at Salutem, any day can be a payday. That’s right, you can withdraw up to 30% of your wages via Wagestream, so if you need some cash, we’ve got you covered.

As a keyworker in the Care sector, you’ll qualify for discounts with a Blue Light card. If you qualify for a pension scheme and choose to opt in, we’ll support you to pay into this. We also have a healthcare scheme you can opt into that looks after you when you need it most.

We enjoy using our internal staff communications app, Blink, where everyone has a voice and can lean on each other for daily support, and celebrate success too.

We have a massive duty of care towards those we support who are often the most vulnerable in society, which is why our staff are encouraged to keep up to date with vaccines and focus on self-care too.

We hope this gives you a little glimpse into this role and vibe of our organisation. We want everyone at Salutem to live their best lives, and look forward to hearing from you too! #applynow
