Description:

Astute are working on behalf of our client who are one of the country's leaders in the Environmental, Waste and Energy Recovery industries to recruit a Fleet Mechanical Engineering Manager.

As the Fleet Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of all mechanical projects (including outages) and overseeing the mechanical engineering strategy for a fleet of Energy from Waste Power Stations.

Responsibilities and duties:
As the Fleet Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:

Engineering Support for all EFW assets relating to all mechanical plant issues.
Management & delivery of mechanical projects, outages and plant upgrades.
Ensuring compliance with Safe Systems of Work as defined by the Safety Rules for all work.
Support the development of each assets CMMS to meet engineering standards and best practice.
Development and ongoing review of fleet wide Engineering standards.
Provide oversight on Health & Safety issues relating to Mechanical Assets and provide support to the Authorising Engineer.
Management & ownership of the GENSIP Mechanical standards and act as company representative.
Lead plant performance and improvement projects focusing on mechanical assets.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

Ideally a degree in a related Engineering field such as Mechanical Engineering
Holder of NEBOSH or at least IOSH in Health & Safety (or similar).
Member of a recognised Engineering institution such as Chartered (or working towards)
Personal skills
The Fleet Mechanical Engineering Manager would suit someone with:

Extensive knowledge of legislation relating to mechanical assets including LOLER, PUWER & PSSR as well as Safe Systems of Work, Safety Rules & Permit to Work Systems.
At least three years supervisory experience in a relevant Engineering / Fleet / Asset position
Experience with mass burn Energy from Waste; other forms of Power Generation will be considered
Experience managing projects & outages.
Knowledge of GENSIP would be advantageous
