We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fleet Engineering Manager to oversee engineering operations across Aberhill and St Andrews in South Scotland.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional with strong fleet maintenance and people management experience to take on a senior role within a large and progressive transport operation.
The Role
Reporting into the senior engineering management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the fleet remains safe, reliable, compliant and well maintained, while leading and developing the engineering teams across the depots.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Managing and leading engineering teams across multiple locations
* Delivering effective fleet maintenance and engineering support
* Ensuring high standards of fleet safety, reliability and presentation
* Managing preventative maintenance and repair programmes
* Ensuring compliance with statutory and legislative requirements
* Maintaining high standards of health & safety
* Monitoring engineering performance and identifying areas for improvement
* Managing engineering activities within agreed budgets
* Working closely with senior management and local teams
* Supporting the continued development of the wider engineering operation
About You
We are looking for an experienced Fleet Engineering Manager, Engineering Manager, Workshop Manager or Senior Engineering professional with:
* Proven experience managing fleet maintenance operations
* Strong technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair
* Experience leading and developing engineering teams
* Excellent knowledge of health & safety and environmental legislation
* Strong understanding of preventative maintenance
* Excellent communication and people management skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* A commercially aware and customer-focused approach
* Evidence of continued professional development
Experience within HGV, PSV, bus, coach or another large commercial fleet environment would be highly advantageous.
