Fleet Commercial Manager – South Normanton

We’re looking for an experienced Fleet Commercial Manager to lead the commercial, cost control and administrative functions within a fast‑paced fleet operation. This is a key opportunity for a proactive, analytical and process‑driven Fleet Commercial Manager who can improve performance, strengthen supplier relationships and drive operational efficiency across the business.

The Role – Fleet Commercial ManagerAs Fleet Commercial Manager, you will oversee the day‑to‑day performance of the cost control and administration teams, ensuring robust processes, accurate financial management and strong supplier performance. The Fleet Commercial Manager will focus on maximising profitability, improving operational workflows, and ensuring all commercial activity aligns with contractual, financial and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Lead, support and develop the fleet administration and cost control teams, ensuring training, resources and performance standards are met.
Maintain a positive, collaborative team culture.
Ensure WIP invoicing and cost control targets are achieved within agreed budgets.
Analyse costs, validate charges and ensure alignment with SLAs and commercial agreements.
Manage supplier relationships, contracts and performance against KPIs.
Oversee commercial processes including customer contracts, RPI/CPI increases and financial controls.
Negotiate contract terms and understand service offerings to support commercial decisions.
Support onboarding and offboarding of customers, ensuring smooth transitions.
Work cross‑functionally to communicate changes in contracts, rates or processes.
Develop and implement SOPs to streamline operations and improve productivity.
Conduct performance reviews, set objectives and identify training needs across the teams.
Provide reports, insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Confident using Microsoft Office, CRM systems and fleet management software
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven background in fleet operations within logistics, transport or fleet management
Strong mechanical understanding to support cost analysis and repair validation
Advanced analytical and problem‑solving ability with a data‑driven approach
