Fitter’s Mate & Installations Operative
Role Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on Fitter’s Mate / Installations Operative to join our team for a 3-month summer contract (July, August, and September). Based out of Northampton, you will be the ultimate "extra pair of hands," assisting our lead fitters with driving, unloading, site preparation, and installation support.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in DIY or hand tools who wants to get stuck into practical work, with the potential to learn on-the-job fitting skills along the way.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Logistics: Shared driving duties to and from various building and project sites.
Site Preparation & Takedowns: Assisting with pulling down old fixtures, clearing areas, and prepping spaces for installation.
Loading & Unloading: Safely handling materials, tools, and equipment from the vehicle to the work area.
Fitter Support: Handing tools to the lead fitter, holding materials in place, and learning the ropes of the trade.
Housekeeping: Keeping the workspace and transit vehicles clean, tidy, and safe.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements)
Valid UK Driving Licence: Essential for helping with transit between sites.
CSCS Card: Strongly preferred (essential for accessing major building sites).
Hand Tool / DIY Experience: A proven history of safely using basic hand tools and a solid practical mindset.
Physical Fitness: The role involves lifting, loading, and active manual labour.
"Get Stuck In" Attitude: Reliable, proactive, and willing to take direction while anticipating what the team needs next.
Location: Must be based in or easily able to commute to Northampton.
Wiling to undergo a DBS check due to the locations such as hospitals, schools and universities

Position Type: Temporary / Contract (3 Months: July – September)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm (Flexible due to being on site)
Location: Based in Northampton (traveling to various sites)
Salary/Rate: £12.71-£13 (DOE)
