Experienced Fitter - Dayshift

Job Role: The successful candidate will be able to assemble/disassemble, mechanically test and pressure test a variety of subsea drill through equipment and valves. They will have the ability to troubleshoot/diagnose any resultant problems and suggest remedial work. The role involves supervision and coordination of day-to-day activities within the Assembly & Coatings Department. The candidate will perform these tasks to meet company delivery expectations whilst ensuring safety, cost and quality goals are also met.

Key Responsibilities:

* Ensure compliance to company HS&E Policies and risk assessments at all times.

* Ensure Quality of work produced is of a high standard and in compliance with all relevant documentation/work order travellers/equipment manuals.

* Knowledge of assembly and test procedures, in particular pressure retaining equipment.

* Ensure the department has a clear understanding of work instructions, whilst maintaining health & safety practices.

* Take a proactive role in assigned tasks to improve delivery performance e.g. new methods, new tooling etc.

* Have a responsible attitude towards company equipment and ensure correct usage of company equipment.

* Efficient use of time to maximise output.

* Ensure housekeeping procedures and policies are adhered to.

* Be willing to work on own initiative and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks.

* Ensure communication is effective when working as a team and between shifts.

* Be willing to work shift pattern.

* Any other reasonable duties as required or deemed necessary to ensure the quality of goods is met and work is carried out in a healthy and safe fashion.

Qualifications/Experience:

* ONC/HNC Engineering discipline advantageous as well as 5-10 years’ experience in a Repair/Maintenance/Assembly environment.

* Knowledge of maintenance/welding/pressure testing principles, concepts, theories and practices.

* Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings essential.

* Chargehand experience preferred but not essential.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

* Strong communication and teamwork skills.

* Problem-solving abilities.

* A minimum of 2 years general fabrication work is preferred.

* Current Counterbalance Fork Lift Truck licence will be beneficial.

QA:

* Ensure all QA and departmental procedures and policies are adhered to in order to maintain the quality standard BS EN ISO 9001:2015

HSE:

* Fulfil responsibilities under the Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policy and ensure so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of the team. In particular give full attention to:

* Risk Assessments/COSHH Assessments and the control measures identified therein.

* Compliance with all HSE warning and information signs.

* Compliance with all Company assigned PPE requirements.

* Fulfil responsibilities with all Company Environmental Initiatives, in particular:

* Waste segregation – paper, metals, wood, oils etc
