Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Stopper to join our project team based in Norwich. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of commercial and residential buildings by implementing fire stopping measures, specifically focusing on batt and mastic applications for the duration of an 8-9 week project.

Responsibilities:

1.

Fire Stopping Installation: Execute fire stopping installations in accordance with industry standards and project specifications.

2.

Batt and Mastic Application: Proficiently apply batt insulation and mastic sealants to effectively prevent the spread of fire through penetrations, joints, and gaps in building structures.

3.

Compliance Assurance: Ensure all fire stopping work adheres to relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards, maintaining a high level of quality and compliance throughout the project.

4.

Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate fire stopping activities, resolve issues, and ensure timely completion of tasks.

5.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of fire stopping activities, including installation details, material usage, and compliance documentation.

6.

Safety Adherence: Strictly adhere to health and safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and create a safe working environment for oneself and others.

Requirements:

1.

Experience: Proven experience as a Fire Stopper or in a similar role, with expertise in batt and mastic applications.

2.

Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of fire stopping techniques, materials, and regulations.

3.

Certifications: Relevant certifications or training in fire stopping and/or construction safety (e.g., FDIS, NVQ Level 2 Fire Protection, CSCS card) preferred.

4.

Skills: Excellent practical skills with the ability to work accurately and efficiently. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.

5.

Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members and communicate technical information clearly.

6.

Reliability: Dependable and punctual, with a commitment to meeting project deadlines and delivering high-quality workmanship.

7.

Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements and work schedules as needed.
