Fire & Security Engineer, Worcestershire, Wset Midlands includes overtime and additional benefits
We are working with an established and growing fire and security business that is looking to strengthen its engineering team across Worcestershire.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys service and maintenance, takes pride in solving technical challenges and values building good relationships with customers.
You will be joining a business that recognises the importance of its engineers and provides the structure, equipment and support needed to deliver a professional service.
The role
You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance and repair of fire and electronic security systems across customer sites.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Planned servicing and maintenance of fire alarm and security systems.
*
Diagnosing and resolving faults across CCTV, intruder alarms and access control systems.
*
Carrying out repairs and smaller installation works.
*
Responding to reactive call-outs.
*
Providing technical support and advice to customers.
*
Completing accurate service reports and technical documentation.
*
Ensuring systems are maintained in line with relevant industry regulations and standards.
*
Working closely with the wider service team to ensure jobs are completed efficiently.
*
Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota.
What we are looking for
We are keen to speak with engineers who have:
*
Previous experience working within fire and security engineering.
*
Strong hands-on servicing and maintenance experience.
*
Knowledge of fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms and access control.
*
Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
*
Experience working independently across customer sites.
*
A good understanding of relevant fire and security regulations.
*
A reliable and professional approach to their work.
*
Strong customer service and communication skills.
*
A full UK driving licence.
Industry qualifications such as FIA or City & Guilds would be advantageous.
Knowledge of BS 5839, NSI, BAFE and IP-based security systems would also be beneficial.
An 18th Edition qualification would be desirable but is not essential.
