We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to join a busy Local Authority housing team in the South West on an initial 6-month contract.
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking fire risk assessments across a diverse portfolio of residential and public buildings, ensuring full compliance with current fire safety legislation and best practice guidance. You will identify risks, produce detailed reports, recommend remedial actions, and work closely with housing, compliance, and asset management teams to improve building safety.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out Type 1-4 Fire Risk Assessments across residential and corporate properties.
* Produce comprehensive FRA reports and prioritised action plans.
* Advise on fire safety compliance, legislation, and risk management.
* Monitor and review outstanding fire safety actions.
* Liaise with contractors, surveyors, housing teams, and senior stakeholders.
* Support compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order and Building Safety requirements.
Requirements:
* Proven experience conducting Fire Risk Assessments within housing, local authority, or public sector environments.
* Relevant fire safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Fire, IFSM, IFE or equivalent).
* Strong knowledge of current fire safety legislation and guidance.
* Excellent reporting and stakeholder management skills.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred.
