Description:

Fire Door Inspector – Visual Inspections (Permanent)
Location: Enfield, London
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 + Monthly Bonus + Benefits

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK’s fastest-growing fire safety specialists, partnering with over 80% of the UK’s Housing Associations and Local Authorities. The business delivers pragmatic, proportionate fire safety solutions across the housing and NHS sectors, with a strong reputation for technical excellence and doing things the right way.

The Role

As Fire Door Inspector, you will carry out visual inspections of flat entrance and communal fire doors across a social housing contract in Enfield. You will assess approximately 45 to 50 doors per day, with access to flat entrance doors arranged in advance by the team. Communal doors serve as a fallback when flat entrance access is not available, keeping your day productive throughout.

You will record all inspection findings accurately using digital reporting tools, identify remedial works required and produce clear, accurate records to enable the project team to plan and price works effectively.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out visual fire door inspections across flat entrance and communal doors on a social housing contract in Enfield

* Assess approximately 45 to 50 doors per day — flat entrance doors primarily, with communal doors as fallback

* Identify defects and remedial works required in line with current fire door compliance standards

* Record all findings accurately using digital reporting tools including photographic evidence

* Work in line with company methodology — doing it right first time, every time

* Maintain resident access using best-practice engagement methods

* Work collaboratively with the wider Pre-Construction team throughout the contract

* Complete all required H&S documentation, RAMS and permits to work

* Attend weekly team meetings and visit the Enfield office as required

What We’re Looking For

* FDIS Diploma — essential and required for site access, non-negotiable

* Experience carrying out fire door inspections — essential

* Strong technical knowledge of fire door compliance including gaps, tolerances, ironmongery, intumescent seals and signage

* Confident and outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills — residents need to trust you enough to let you into their home

* Detail-oriented with a right-first-time approach to every inspection

* Comfortable using digital reporting and survey tools

* Strong time management and ability to manage own workload

* Based within commutable distance of Enfield

* Full UK Driving Licence — desirable (may be required on future contracts)

What’s On Offer

* £40,000 – £50,000 per annum

* Monthly bonus scheme based on daily inspection

* Personal Development Plan with ongoing training and mentoring

* Enhanced maternity and paternity

* Lunch, snacks and refreshments provided daily — including fresh fruit and Takeaway Friday

* Cycle to work scheme

* Auto-enrolment pension

* Two major company events per year
