Role: Fire Consultant

Location: Manchester office

We are excited to be working with a long-standing client to secure a fire consultant for their Manchester team. Our client prides themselves on providing a high-quality level of service, whilst providing long term solutions for their fire safety duties.

Capitalising on the success of recent wins for both existing and new clients, there is now the need to expand the fire advisory team by recruiting a fire consultant with a background in Fire Safety Risk Management and Assurance / Compliance within the Manchester region.

You will be joining a company that prides itself on having one of the best national fire advisory teams within the UK. Key Responsibilities:

Conduct fire risk assessments on a variety of properties and real estate.
Maintain fire risk assessor competency requirements through systems training and updates of legislation.
Offer fire safety consultancy service to clients and stakeholders.
Keep up to date with the latest changes in relation to fire safety guidelines, fire safety legislation and building regulations.
Work alongside a construction management team of building surveyors, cost and project managers and H&S professionals.
Liaise with principal contractors and clients to influence fire safety.
Oversee all aspects of fire safety for their portfolio of projects.
Lead and manage projects in a proactive and diligent manner.
Develop new and existing business relationships. 
Professional Skills:

Undertake fire strategies to low to medium complexity buildings.
To undertake fire risk assessments across a variety of property types ranging from residential, healthcare, custodial, education and commercial.
To undertake fire integrity / compartmentation surveys to identify breaches, proposed remedial repairs through to preparation of specification and design.
To provide quality & technical monitoring on construction projects.
To provide fire safety advisor role to assist our clients with their property portfolio.
Ideally have good working knowledge of Approved Document B, BS9999, Health Technical Memorandum 05-02, Building Bulletins, relevant British Standards.
To review contractors' proposals on construction projects and provide comment on suitability for the intended purpose.
About you

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive approach to the role, and will be delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results. They will be passionate about fire safety and will strive to provide the upmost quality on every commission.

Level 3 Fire Safety Qualification minimum.
Experience in carrying out fire strategies.
Experience of undertaking/reviewing Fire Risk Assessments.
Knowledge of current and incoming UK fire safety legislation.
Strong technical delivery experience.
Client facing, ensuring high standards of technical delivery.
Able to build long-term relationships.
A track record of working with teams and prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines.
A team player, outgoing, flexible and motivated.
