We are seeking a Designer and Estimator to join our team.
As a Designer and Estimator in fire and security, you'll craft cutting-edge designs and accurate cost estimates for fire protection and security systems, ensuring projects meet client needs efficiently and within budget
Boden Fire and Security deliver services and project works to the Ministry of Defence and commercial clients at multiple sites in the South West and South East.

Key Duties of the role
Design:
* Develop detailed system designs for fire and security projects, including fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and intruder detection systems.
* Produce technical drawings, specifications, and bills of materials using CAD software.
* Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, codes of practice, and client requirements.
* Collaborate with operational teams to refine solutions and provide technical support
Estimating:
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for fire and security systems, considering labour, materials, and equipment costs.
* Analyse project specifications and requirements to identify key deliverables and cost drivers.
* Source and obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
* Review historical data and current market trends to produce accurate and competitive estimates.
* Maintain an up-to-date database of pricing and supplier information.
* Present and justify estimates to management and clients, addressing any questions or concerns.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
* Ensure all designs and installations meet British Standards and industry regulations, including BS 5839, BS 5266, and BS EN 50131.
* Conduct quality checks on installations to ensure proper functionality and compliance.
* Stay updated with the latest industry trends, standards, and best practices.
Required Skills and experience:
* Proven experience in design and estimation within the electrical or fire & security industries.
* Comprehensive knowledge of fire and security systems (fire alarms, access control, CCTV, intruder alarms).
* Proficiency in CAD software.
