Fire Alarm Engineer
Location: Lancashire
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annul, depending on experience
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, testing and fault-finding on fire alarm systems across a range of sites. This position requires strong technical knowledge, a thorough understanding of UK fire-safety standards and experience working with conventional, addressable and wireless systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Install and commission fire alarm systems.
* Complete planned and reactive maintenance.
* Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
* Test conventional, addressable and wireless fire alarm systems.
* Complete system modifications and upgrades.
* Ensure all work complies with BS 5839 and current fire-safety legislation.
* Produce accurate service reports, test records and certification.
* Identify system defects, compliance issues and recommended remedial work.
* Communicate professionally with customers and site representatives.
* Maintain the company vehicle, tools and equipment provided.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
* A minimum of five years' experience installing and maintaining fire alarm systems.
* Strong knowledge of UK fire alarm standards and regulations, including BS 5839.
* Good knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
* Experience working with conventional, addressable and wireless fire alarm systems.
* Relevant qualifications, such as FIA certifications or a recognized equivalent.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* A professional, reliable and safety-conscious approach.
Salary and Benefits
* Salary of up to £45,000, depending on experience.
* 24 days' annual leave, excluding bank holidays.
* Increased annual leave following three full years of service.

* Company sick pay comprising six weeks' full pay followed by six weeks' half pay. The first three days of any sickness absence are paid at Statutory Sick Pay.
