Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer
Location: Leeds and surrounding Yorkshire and Nothwest England region
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Vehicle and package
Job Type: Permanent
The Opportunity
A well-established UK fire protection and compliance business is looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer to join its growing engineering team.
You’ll work both independently and alongside an established team, supporting reactive and planned maintenance works for a broad customer base. The role will include small installations, commissioning and site surveys, with exposure to a range of life safety and security systems.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
* Installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of fire alarm and associated systems.
* Basic fault finding and technical troubleshooting.
* Carrying out preventative maintenance and field modifications.
* Completing site surveys and identifying opportunities for additional works.
* Maintaining accurate service records, PDA reports and compliance documentation.
* Managing customer relationships and providing a high standard of service.
* Ensuring tools and test equipment are maintained and appropriately calibrated.
* Working in line with Health & Safety and relevant regulatory requirements.
* Supporting the identification of new contract and system sales opportunities.
* Participating in the out-of-hours standby and call-out rota.
Systems
The role may involve a range of systems including:
* Fire Alarm Systems
* Intruder Alarms
* CCTV
* Access Control
* Emergency Lighting
* Fire Extinguishers
About You
The successful candidate will have:
* Previous experience working with active fire alarm and intruder alarm systems is essential.
* Strong knowledge of life safety systems, electrical circuits and components.
* Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* The ability to work at height, in confined spaces and handle equipment where required.
Desirable qualifications include ECS, IPAF and PASMA.
