Financial Controller, West London (Hybrid working)
£100,000- £120,000pa plus benefits including bonus & £5k car allowance
Our client, a instantly recognisable brand name with a global presence, are looking to bring on board a technically strong Financial Controller. This position is responsible for overseeing the accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable activities necessary to produce accurate and timely financial statements and maintain a strong control environment. This includes ownership of all internal and external financial reporting requirements. This position is integral to building a world-class Finance team to support the growing and complex global business with excellent growth and development opportunities.
Key Job Dimensions & Scope of Role
* Key role within Finance leadership
* Has 9 direct reports (and 3 indirect reports) covering accounting, accounts payable and account receivable
* Ownership of the monthly reporting cycle and cash flow management
* Responsible for maintaining and developing UK control environment
* Accountable for annual statutory reporting
Summary of Key Responsibilities
* Ownership of the monthly reporting process, coordinating the preparation of monthly management accounts for leadership, while ensuring all monthly controls are performed and adding commercial insight.
* Responsible for maintaining and developing the control environment. This will include implementation of EMEA driven controls, including SOX controls, and identifying and implementing control requirements specific to the UK business.
* Accountable for annual statutory reporting process including preparation of the accounts and managing relationship with the auditor.
* Responsible for effective cash flow management and optimising working capital deployment.
* Indirect oversight of the EMEA Accounts Payable And Account Receivables teams, coaching the UK Manager's to drive process improvements and strengthen controls whilst managing credit risk.
* Support the UK business with an understanding and interpretation of relevant accounting standards and practices.
* Develop a high performing team with a growth mindset, supporting the team's professional development and career progression.
* Project team member for key strategic projects, providing accounting and commercial insight.
* Identifies risks and opportunities across the business, creating and developing solutions.
The successful candidate will be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and have demonstrable experience of financial controls. Good knowledge of IFRS is needed as is experience in preparing UK statutory accounts for an operating entity. You will have a growth mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and strong general system skills.
