Hays Accountancy & Finance are proud to be supporting a well-established organisation based in Sheffield as they look to recruit a Financial / Statutory Accountant on a temporary-to-permanent basis. Your new role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while supporting statutory and compliance requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:

Preparing monthly financial accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
Assisting with statutory accounts preparation and audit requirements
Supporting year-end and month-end processes
Maintaining fixed asset registers and associated reporting
Managing VAT returns and other regulatory submissions
Ensuring compliance with financial controls and accounting standards
Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
Liaising with external auditors and internal stakeholders across the business
Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and reportingWhat you'll need to succeed

Qualified by experience, part-qualified or fully qualified (AAT, ACCA, ACA or CIMA)
Previous experience within a financial accounting, statutory accounting or reporting role
Strong technical accounting knowledge
Experience supporting audits and statutory reporting processes
Excellent Excel and systems skills
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work to deadlinesWhat you'll get in return
