Platform Resourcing are currently working with a leading manufacturing company who are looking for a Financial Accountant based in St Mellons, Cardiff. The is a permanent role which can offer progression for the successful candidate due to the business having significant growth across all departments for the past 4 years after .

Financial Accountant Benefits:

Salary of up to £40,000 plus 10% yearly bonus (£44,000 starting salary including bonus)
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (flexible with start and finish times)

Free Parking, Tea and CoffeeFinancial Accountant Duties and Responsibilities

Monthly Balance sheet review and recs.
Management and review of all overheads including weekly & monthly department overhead review meetings.
Analysis of monthly transport cost vs recovery.
Working closely with operations and procurement and assisting in any cost saving/ analysis projects.
Numerous group reporting requests throughout the year.
Completion of bi-annual stat packs for Statutory reporting.
Annual Tax pack completion for Group Tax.
Vendor amendment checks and approvals on any changes using SAP.
Approval of weekly payments via BACS and Bankline.
Preparing internal and external audits.
Management of the financial information required for R&D Tax credit annual review.
Weekly cashflow reporting including group reporting.
Completing month end process including P&L/BS review and group reporting.
2ndreview and approval on weekly expenses.
Weekly analysis of credit notes/warranty costs.
Raising of any adhoc recharge invoices and rebate credit notes.
Ad-hoc projects required by the business and group.
Assisting AP with any complex query resolution.
Ensuring all group internal audit criteria is adhered to and completed on a monthly basis.

Financial Accountant Essential Experience/Qualifications

Experience within an Accounting position, preferably within a manufacturing, engineering, or construction firm.
Fully qualified Accountant with two years minimum experience within an accounting role whether that be Accountant, Management Accountant or Financial Controller etc.
Experience of completing VAT returns, reconciliation of accounts, analysis as well as month-end and year-end reporting.
Power BI experience/knowledge would be advantageous.
SAP experience and knowledge - highly desirable but not essential
Excellent Excel skills to include pivots/ lookups/ sumifs and ideally power automate
Experience of using and ERP/ MRP system would be advantageous.Privacy and General Data Protection Policy
