National Express are recruiting for an experienced Financial Accountant to join the team at our Head Office, in Digbeth. The successful candidate will responsible for supporting the Finance Manager, Financial Controller and the wider finance team with both the statutory and internal reporting requirements, including month end reporting, year end audit and other ad hoc reporting requirements.
What you'll do:
NEAT – Own the financial accounting, reporting, management accounting and balance sheet for the NEAT entity in the UK, with the opportunity to own the statutory accounts, VAT and tax to have full financial ownership of this entity
Balance sheet reconciliations - ensuring all delegated monthly balance sheet reconciliations are completed with all supporting documentation in a timely manner for a variety of Bus and Coach balance sheet codes
Finance systems – responsibility for posting journals, raising / checking purchase orders, reconciling internal systems as required, maintaining, and proactively recommending improvements to finance processes
Finance Processing – responsibility for reviewing and approving payment invoices and month end payment runs
Cash flow forecasting – initially supporting and then over time taking responsibility for the preparation and submission of cash flow forecasts for the UK entities
Year End support as required including internal and external
Ensure the reliability & integrity of financial information
Review, improve & simplify the departmental processes
Administrative and ad hoc duties as appropriate to support the role
What you'll need:
Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant
Ability to use Microsoft Office applications at Advanced level (e.g. Excel)
Numerical and analytical skills – attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Effective administration and organisational skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with experience of managing external relationships
Knowledge of Open Accounts beneficial
