Anderson Knight are currently looking to recruit a Financial Accountant to join one of our key clients who are a globally renowned Energy business.
As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the company, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.
My client is ideally looking for someone newly qualified coming from practice with a strong audit background. However they will be open to candidates with similar experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare financial statements, reports, and forecasts in compliance with accounting principles and regulations
* Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries
* Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations for improving financial performance
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and monitor budgets and financial plans
* Assist in the preparation of tax returns and liaise with external auditors as needed
* Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks
Requirements:
* Qualified Accountant - ACCA / CA
* Experience in statutory accounts and experience in a PLC or large corporate environment is a plus.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS)
* Proficiency in financial software and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
