Description:

Cedar are recruiting a Finance transformation manager position (outside IR35) for a PE backed energy transition business based in Scotland. They have recently gone through a sale which has created a rare opportunity to build out one of their development projects which will have a significant role to play in meeting the country's Net Zero target. The company has significant funding and is entering growth phase.

The role

To combine establishing basic finance and system functions as well as more complex processes which will aid growth across the wider business. This will include being involved with the ERP implementation (Sage) whilst working closely with the Head of IT, create finance processes, assist with business strategy and work closely with stakeholders.

Duties/Responsibilities

Set up and maintain interim manual accounting systems for purchase to pay, expenses and recording transactions (with the support of administrator)
Support the implementation and development of an ERP system
Develop and manage month end controls
Develop and provide monthly financial reporting to the Exec and Investors
Manage VAT and Corporation Tax reporting and payments (supported by third party)
Prepare and maintain the budget and cost forecasts

The appeal

It is a greenfield project meaning that it is essentially a "blank piece of paper" so it will require a "doer" someone who is able to process an invoice, present at a board meeting and everything in between. Your input will be invaluable, and they will lean on your expertise to guide them during this growth phase.

The role is hybrid working (2-3 days in the office every 2 weeks) and will be working closely with the CFO and other stakeholders. They promote a fantastic working environment and look for dynamic forward thinkers therefore, you will be working with a high performing team.

Ideal candidate

The successful candidate will come from a finance background ideally up to manager/controller level who has a clear gasp on finance processes (basic to complex). As this is a greenfield project the candidate will be asked to "hands on" and be agile with their approach.

The background of the ideal candidate would have then transitioned to more transformation focused positions, helping with business change and finance process build outs.. The candidate would have ideally been previously involved with a greenfield project and successfully reached the end of the project life cycle. Communication skills and stakeholder management is essential for this role. Sage experience would be advantageous
