Finance Support Assistant – Spider is advertising on behalf of Ellisons, who are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Finance Support Assistant to join their finance team based in Colchester, Essex on a permanent basis.

About the role:
As a Finance Support Assistant, you will support the firm's finance and legal cashiering functions, helping to ensure accurate financial transactions, efficient billing processes and compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
* Monitoring online banking, recording incoming payments and updating ledgers
* Checking payment instructions and ensuring compliance with internal procedures
* Supporting billing, including invoices, completion statements, bills and credit notes
* Assisting with residual balances in line with the Solicitors Accounts Rules
* Handling enquiries, credit card reconciliations and online payments
* Supporting purchase ledger activities, supplier queries and invoice processing
* Processing employee expenses, compliance checks and payment runs
* Reviewing standing orders and direct debits, and providing finance team cover when required
About you:
You'll have excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently with excellent attention to detail and a head for numbers.
You'll be a confident communicator, comfortable liaising with colleagues, suppliers and budget holders, with a professional and proactive approach to your work. Experience in a finance or professional services environment would be advantageous.
Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel would be advantageous. Previous experience with Partner for Windows (P4W) is desirable but not essential.
You'll be keen to learn, work collaboratively and support the smooth running of a busy finance department.
