FINANCE OFFICER / REMOTE WORKING / £28,000 - £32,000 FTE / PART TIME APPROX 20 HOURS PER WEEK

Designed for the global pharmaceutical and healthcare sector, we launched in 2018 and since then, we have tripled the revenue.
The Method is an award-winning learning & development business whose founders brought method-acting techniques from the world of theatre to the corporate training space. We work with large companies across the UK, helping their staff to transform their behavior. To support our continued growth, we are looking for dynamic and creative thinkers to join our team.

Fully remote company since 2016 and the current team of 24 staff work from their home offices across the UK. Using Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and (url removed) as our daily working platforms, we meet in London as required, and have two dedicated social events in London each year.
The Finance Officer is responsible for a broad range of finance tasks across two companies, and for assisting the Financial Controller in preparation of the monthly management accounts. It would suit someone with experience in bookkeeping, and (desirable) month end journals and intercompany reconciliations, towards the end of their AAT studies. The finance function uses Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax, (url removed), and has outsourced payroll.

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Officer:
* Responsible for the shared finance inbox.
* Bookkeeping for two separate companies: mainly on the Purchase ledger side, including reconciling supplier statements, staff expenses.
* Credit control and assisting the Financial Controller with Sales invoicing.
* Payment runs twice a month for supplier payments and salaries.
* Bank and credit card reconciliations and maintaining the fixed asset register.
* Assisting with month end – preparing journals for prepayments, cost accruals & depreciation.
* Some intercompany reconciliations and other reconciliations as required.
* Responsible for keeping the Finance Guide up to date and for implementing process improvements.
* Supporting the Financial Controller and wider team as required.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Experience in using online accounting packages such as Xero, Quickbooks, or Sage50.
* Familiarity with intercompany concepts and ability to work across two different businesses.
* Completed AAT level 3 or ACCA Applied Knowledge level.
* Track record of engaging with multiple stakeholders including client, supplier, & senior management.
* At least two years’ bookkeeping experience within a SME accounting function.
* Exceptional understanding of double entry bookkeeping and month end cycle.
* Strong IT skills, particularly Excel, and ability to pick up new processes and systems quickly.
* Ability to manage own tasks, good time management and able to work to tight deadlines.
* Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and critical thinking is essential.
* Ability to work as part of a team and alone remotely in a virtual environment.
