Finance Officer
Hourly Rate: £16 - £24 per hour
Contract: Initial 6 month contract with a view to being extended
Work Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday.

Our client is a local authority in the Southwest looking to recruit a Finance Officer on an interim contract. Spencer Clarke Group are working in partnership to find a suitable candidate.
Role Brief:
This role will provide the opportunity to develop and gain experience in the management accountancy team. The successful candidate will be willing to learn and work effectively and efficiently both individually and as part of a wider team. You will also have good IT and communication skills.
You will need to be a qualified accounting technician (AAT) or equivalent, or a graduate with a financial degree and preferably have some experience working in a finance team
Key Responsibilities:
Project Support to Head of Pensions and Finance Manager. Assist with various tasks/projects of a financial nature, which may involve modelling and costing.
Support the production of budgets, closure of accounts, and/or financial systems, in accordance with corporate policy and standards.
Prepare information and/or analyses for inclusion in a range of returns and reports, including Outturn Reports, Statement of Accounts, statutory returns, grant claims and any additional information at the request of internal and external auditors
What we're looking for:
Strong communication skills
Experience of Excel and SAP.
Must have management accounting experience and supporting budget holders.
