Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: Home based

Salary: £40-£50k

Job Purpose

As our client's Finance Manager, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day finance function and supporting the organisation’s financial performance, reporting and long-term objectives. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will oversee financial planning and reporting, maintain effective financial controls, and ensure compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially aware and hands-on finance professional to join a growing organisation and make a meaningful contribution by providing accurate financial information, improving processes, supporting business performance and helping the organisation achieve its objectives.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Management and Reporting

* Manage the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate and timely financial information is produced.

* Prepare and present management accounts, financial reports and analysis for the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team.

* Provide financial insight and analysis to support effective operational and business decision-making.

* Monitor financial performance and highlight key trends, risks and opportunities.

* Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records and reporting.

Financial Planning and Budgeting

* Coordinate the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.

* Monitor financial performance against budgets, forecasts and key performance indicators.

* Investigate significant variances and provide recommendations for corrective action.

* Identify opportunities to improve financial efficiency, manage costs and enhance business performance.

* Support effective cash flow management and financial planning.

Financial Governance, Compliance and Audit

* Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, statutory requirements and internal policies.

* Maintain effective financial controls, processes and reporting procedures.

* Manage relationships with external auditors and coordinate the annual audit process.

* Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and other regulatory reporting.

* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant financial legislation, accounting standards and best practice.

Team Management

* Manage, support and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

* Oversee day-to-day team performance and ensure finance activities are completed accurately and within required deadlines.

* Provide guidance and support to finance team members, encouraging professional development.

* Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to support wider business objectives.

Commercial Support and Business Performance

* Provide financial support and analysis for business projects, growth initiatives and operational improvements.

* Prepare financial models and analysis to support investment and business decisions.

* Provide commercial insight to help identify opportunities, manage risks and improve financial performance.

* Support the Managing Director and wider leadership team with financial information and analysis as required.

* Contribute to the development and improvement of financial systems, processes and procedures.

Qualifications and/or Experience Required

Essential Experience

* Proven experience in a finance management or senior finance role, such as Finance Manager, Management Accountant or equivalent.

* Professionally qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent), or actively working towards a relevant professional qualification.

* Strong experience in management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.

* Experience managing audits, financial controls and regulatory compliance.

* Experience managing, supervising or supporting the development of finance team members.

* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and communicate key findings clearly.
