Description:
We're recruiting a hands-on Finance Manager for a growing business in Watford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager or Management Accountant looking for a broad, varied role with plenty of responsibility and the chance to contribute to a developing finance function.
Our client operates within the technology sector and is expanding its UK operations. They're looking for a practical, approachable Finance Manager who enjoys working closely with the numbers, improving processes and supporting the wider business.
The Finance Manager will be responsible for management accounts, month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial controls, alongside supporting day-to-day transactional finance activities.
This position would suit someone who enjoys working in a growing business where no two days are quite the same.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Preparing monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
*
Managing month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
*
Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management.
*
Overseeing purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations and other transactional finance activities.
*
Maintaining accurate financial records and effective financial controls.
*
Producing financial reports and providing analysis to support business decisions.
*
Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and reporting.
*
Supporting the development and effective use of Microsoft Dynamics.
*
Working closely with colleagues across the business on financial matters.
*
Assisting with year-end accounts and audit preparation.
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for a Finance Manager or experienced Management Accountant with a strong technical foundation and a willingness to get involved in the day-to-day running of the finance function.
Ideally, you'll have:
*
An accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA or ACA).
*
Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or Assistant Finance Manager.
*
Strong month-end, management accounts and balance sheet reconciliation experience.
*
Experience of budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting.
*
Previous experience using Microsoft Dynamics, ideally Dynamics 365 or Business Central.
*
Strong Excel skills and a good understanding of financial systems.
*
Experience working within an SME, operational or growing business environment.
*
A practical, organised approach and the confidence to work independently.
Above all, we're looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on. You'll be comfortable producing management accounts one day and getting involved in transactional finance or improving processes the next.
