Finance Manager

Description:

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a broad, hands-on Finance Manager position with responsibility for leading a small finance team and overseeing the day-to-day finance function. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in financial reporting, business planning and operational decision-making.

This is an office-based role offering excellent benefits and the opportunity to take ownership of a varied finance remit.

Key responsibilities:

Lead the day-to-day running of the finance department.
Produce accurate monthly management accounts.
Prepare financial reports and analysis for senior management.
Attend management meetings and contribute to business planning and strategic decision-making.
Support the budgeting and forecasting process.
Maintain strong financial controls and identify opportunities to improve systems and processes.
Oversee cash flow management, credit control and working capital.
Produce financial analysis to support stock control and operational performance.
Manage the year-end audit and liaise with external auditors.
Oversee the monthly payroll process.
Manage relationships with external providers, including pensions, insurance, utilities, IT and telecommunications.
Negotiate and manage a range of supplier contracts.Candidate profile:

Previous experience in a Finance Manager or similar senior finance role.
Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
Experience leading or supervising a finance team.
Commercially minded with the confidence to support senior management.
Hands-on approach with excellent organisational and analytical skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Excellent systems and Excel skilSalary and benefits:

Competitive salary dependent on experience of circa £50,000
