Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting a fantastic organisation in Newcastle on the appointment of a Finance Manager
To lead the billing and accounts payable team consisting of AAT accounting technicians and non-qualified accounting staff based in our Newcastle office, and to support the internal payroll function with the liaison with the firm’s external payroll bureau. The position requires a proven ability to lead and manage a team, preferably operating in a global environment. The post holder will possess a strong background in billing and accounts payable functions and will have a strong knowledge of VAT compliance and UK payroll matters.
Responsibilites:
• Responsibility for ensuring adherence to Group policy and procedures and providing support to billing and accounts payable team members in carrying out their own work in compliance of such procedures.
• Approve billing credit notes.
• Drive reduction in the WIP balances.
• Approve new suppliers or changes in supplier details.
• Approve staff expense payments. Support the monthly payroll cycle, particularly during busy months, and provide cover for absence in being able to communicate payroll instructions to the payroll bureau and check the payroll outputs prior to approval.
Experience
• Experienced managing a transactional finance team
• Working knowledge of VAT and its application to both outputs and inputs is necessary.
• Prior experience in multinational, multicurrency business desirable.
• Previous experience of ERP Systems would be advantageous.
• UK payroll knowledge essential
