The Role
Taking on this pivotal role, you'll report to the CEO and manage the financial strategy and operations during the maternity cover period. You'll lead a small finance team, ensuring smooth financial operations, compliance with Charity Commission requirements, and effective communication of financial strategies and risks.
Key responsibilities include strategic finance planning, risk-based reserves management, ethical investment strategy review, and financial policy oversight. You'll also act as a finance business partner, supporting budget holders, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and delivering training as needed. Your role will be crucial in supporting fundraising plans and cost recovery approaches, as well as overseeing the implementation of the new cloud-based finance system.
Required Skills and Experience
To excel in this role, you should have over five years of experience as a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA), with senior leadership experience. A background in charity finance is desirable, alongside a passion for environmental conservation. Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and communication skills are essential.
