Description:

Our client is one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of electrical products in the UK. They're looking to recruit an experienced Finance Director to manage the finance function and develop the business's financial strategy for short, medium and long-term goals. 

As Finance Director, you will manage the finance team responsible for the financial management and preparation of annual statutory accounts, monthly management accounts, budgeting & forecasting, undertaking reconciliations and providing general accounting support. You will be solely responsible for leading the department from top to bottom, developing the finance team and ensuring they are appropriately resourced for their expansion.

This role also involves managing the IT Manager, IT support company, H&S, facilities and ISO compliance.

Responsibilities 

Leadership, management and development of the Finance Team
Preparation of statutory accounts
Production of monthly management accounts and budget exception reports
Lead, manage and oversee the annual planning and budget process
Maintain and develop the long-term financial plan in conjunction with the Managing Director
Quarterly balance sheet, profit and loss
Working closely with the supply chain regarding stock profile
Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls
Provide accurate, relevant and timely information regarding the current and forecast financial position
Manage key financial relationships including auditors, bankers, investment managers, and insurance brokers
Managing the company car fleet and expenses
Liaising with supporting third-party companies
Management and development of the accounting system (SAP) including liaison with the software supplier and consideration of alternatives when appropriate
Design and deliver the strategic financial growth model
Partnering with the various department heads to drive growth and ensure financial targets are met
Understand the daily, weekly and monthly cash position
Cashflow management, budgeting and forecasting
Support HR processes where necessary including payroll This is a full-time, office-based position.

Skills and Experience 

We're looking for someone with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience with a proven track record in strong cash management and strategic growth planning as well as solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.  

You will be a team player, happy to be 'hands-on' when necessary.  Ideally, you will have worked within a business that has a warehouse function and be familiar with WMS.
