Financial Business Partnering Lead

Are you an experienced fully qualified accountant with demonstrable experience of managing a team of strategic finance business partnering professionals? Our business consultancy client are looking for a Financial Business Partnering Lead to manage a team of 4-5 Finance Business Partners and work closely with the Head of Finance and Financial Accounting and Management Reporting Lead to oversee the company’s Financial Business Partnering services and financial planning processes.

Financial Business Partnering Lead Responsibilities

This position will involve, but will not be limited to:

Working with the Head of Finance and other business stakeholders, providing strategic project analysis and support.
Overseeing and leading the delivery of the financial business partnering function and it’s team members, ensuring effective performance and professional development for each team member.
Representing the Finance function within programmes and projects, and contributing towards the Finance Business Partner model, always ensuring the model’s benefits are highlighted and put into practice with all staff and managers.
Leading on financial forecasting and profiting, working closely with all stakeholders to advise and guide business strategy.
Assisting the Financial Accounting and Management Reporting Lead with planning, consolidation and reporting of financial position through the required quarterly management accounts, month and quarter end, as well as financial year end reporting.
Overseeing the process for month financial reports for budget holders and project leads, agreeing timely deadlines and providing regular updates to necessary stakeholders.

Financial Business Partnering Lead Experience

To be successful in this position, you will be a fully qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/CIPFA or equivalent) and have demonstrable exposure within a senior financial business partnering role and experience of managing a team of finance business partnering professionals. Experience working within the public sector would be advantageous, regarding funding from the government, however private sector/ commercial experience from within a fast-paced organisation is essential. You will possess excellent leadership and people management skills, and the ability to be diplomatic, resilient, and proactive. You will have excellent communication skills and a natural ability to build relationships quickly, and you will be able to positively influence stakeholders and provide strategic financial advice, taking the lead on financial forecasting and profiling and developing a long-term financial plan for the organisation. You will have experience of overseeing the monthly financial reporting for budget holders and project leads, agreeing deadlines and providing regular updates to the Head of Finance. You will have experience leading on finance business partnering relationships and facilitating effective collaborative and proactive working amongst the team. You will be strong on compliance and governance, policies, processes and controls. Experience using Xero accounting software would be a bonus but training will be provided. A capable individual, you will not mind working for a company which is going through a transitional stage and you will be a contributor to new ideas to improve overall business function and success. This position would suit someone that has worked as a Financial Business Partner in evolving environments, who can work autonomously, and somoen who has an energetic, proactive and professional manner, able to handle a complex and dynamic environment and pressure.

Location

Our client’s office is located in Harwell. This is a full time, permanent position that offers hybrid working. You must be able to be in Harwell 3 days a week. Free onsite parking is allocated at the office.
