Finance Business Partner - Tech

Role purpose:

This role will be the Senior Financial Analyst for the Technology team, covering BAU & Transformation Projects, working to improve the understanding and reporting of Corporate Functions operating expenses, Project expenses (Exceptional) and CAPEX.

The role is responsible for providing finance support for an operating cost base of over £25m within the Technology function and on-going technology enable transformation programs. Reporting to the Head of Finance for Corporate Functions, this role will be critical in ensuring that costs are accurately reported and that future spend is accurately forecasted, with risks to both P&L and cash flow reported in a timely manner. This is a hands-on role, working across a wide stakeholder base including the CDIO and his Direct reports, project managers and the Value Management Office, the FP&A and corporate finance teams as well as back office finance/operational colleagues to ensure excellent financial insight is built into core reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, enhance and provide "hands-on" finance analysis across Technology. Constructive and insightful analysis of spend, headcount and CAPEX. Explanation of variances and remediation actions
Prepare monthly consolidated reviews and reporting of the actuals for technology. Work with the Corporate Functions Controller to support month-end closing to ensure correct monthly reporting of actuals for Technology BAU and Projects.
Provide support in development of Technology business cases, working with the Value Management office to track performance against plans.
Support the allocation of project resources costs from BAU to Projects, using internally developed rate cards
Support the budget and forecasting process, create reliable full year outlook, assess Risks & Opportunity. Support preparation of presentations. Support and provide information for quarterly Corporate Functions reviews. Develop financial models and analysis to support scenario planning and sensitivity analysis.
First point of contact for all matter related to Technology and 'Be Digital' projects. Close alignment with Technology Stakeholders to ensure actual performance and forecasts are clearly understood, alongside risks & opportunities.
Closely aligned with the IT Procurement team on renewal of 3rd party support contracts, status and impact to budget / forecasts
Support good quality management information; delivering "investor ready" month end reporting including slides and narrative.
Support financial governance of Corporate and the Technology cost base. Ensure robust control with focus on financial, management accounting and cost
Use of core systems (ByD and BPC)
Continuous process improvement - ways of working, finance process and reporting.

Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements:

Minimum Bachelor degree in Finance related subject. Minimum 5 years' experience operating in an international finance function, as a Finance Business Partner.
Knowledge and/or experience of management accounting is highly desirable.
Qualified Accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Knowledge of end-to-end Finance processes, including financial analysis, reporting, controlling, budgeting / forecasting
Good knowledge of finance
Ability to manage deadlines and quick turnarounds with attention to detail
Excellent MS Office skills and preferably working knowledge of SAP ByD and BPC
Excellent communication and Presentation skills
Previous experience supporting technology functions in organisations undergoing change will be beneficial
