Working Pattern: 2-3 days/week on site

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded housing association for a Finance Business Partner to join their finance team on a 2-year fixed-term contract.
The Role
As Finance Business Partner, you'll provide a full finance partnering service that supports effective financial control and the delivery of the organisation's financial and operational targets. You'll work closely with Directors, budget holders, and Senior Finance Partners, using financial analysis and evaluation to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver an effective finance partnering service to stakeholders across the organisation, improving the impact and understanding of financial reporting on business performance
Take accountability for the accurate production of monthly and quarterly management accounts
Partner with Directors and their teams to provide insightful financial analysis and management information that informs decision-making and cost improvements
Work with managers to undertake in-depth analysis of financial performance, producing reports and narrative to support management control and business advice
Work with budget holders to deliver robust draft budgets, underpinned by detailed analysis and core assumptions, in line with agreed deadlines
Work with Senior Finance Partners to develop reporting and performance indicators
Identify, recommend, and drive improvements to business processes to support financial and operational targets
Support projects that deliver continuous improvement in financial and management accounting
What Success Looks Like
Management accounts that accurately reflect the business area, with variances and remedial actions clearly evaluated
Financial performance drivers clearly understood, enabling effective decision-making
Budget, audit, month-end, and quarter-end work completed on time
Continuous improvement in the quality of management information provided to senior managers, budget holders, and Boards
Meaningful contribution to business plans and service reviews through analysis and recommendations
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Fully CCAB or CIMA qualified
Proven experience in finance partnering, with the ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload
Experience reviewing and analysing business processes to deliver financial improvements
Technical excellence, with experience contributing to the statutory accounts process
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Advanced Excel skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience working with complex financial and work management systems
Desirable:
Experience of using Oracle Financials
Experience of project management
Relevant experience within the social housing sector
