Role Overview:

Full-time, Permanent - Hybrid (Llansantffraid SY22)

Wynnstay Group is seeking a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to support our Feed business across Sales, Manufacturing and Logistics.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you'll work closely with colleagues across these teams to turn financial information into practical decisions. You'll help the sales team understand customer, product and margin performance; work with manufacturing managers on costs and productivity; and support logistics colleagues in improving distribution efficiency.

This is a visible, hands-on role. You'll spend time with the people behind the numbers, learn how each part of the Feed business operates and provide insight that helps teams identify opportunities, manage costs and improve performance. You'll build trusted relationships, ask thoughtful questions and offer constructive challenge.

The role offers variety and the opportunity to shape how finance supports the business. It could suit an experienced Finance Business Partner or Commercial Accountant, or a qualified accountant looking to move into a broader commercial and operational role.

Responsibilities:

Partner with sales colleagues to understand performance across customers, products, sales and margins.
Identify opportunities for commercial growth and improved profitability, supporting sales planning and forecasting.
Work with manufacturing managers to understand production costs, material usage, waste, labour and productivity.
Investigate performance trends and variances with operational teams, helping turn findings into practical improvements.
Partner with logistics colleagues to understand transport and distribution costs, vehicle utilisation, route efficiency and third-party haulage.
Help develop clear, useful performance measures across Sales, Manufacturing and Logistics.
Support budgeting, forecasting, planning and performance reviews across the Feed business.
Improve financial reporting so stakeholders can readily understand what is happening, why it is happening and what action they can take.
Spend time with operational teams to understand their processes, challenges and opportunities.
Support month-end, year-end and wider finance requirements.
Contribute to business projects, process improvements and the continued development of finance partnering at Wynnstay.

What we're looking for:

Essential:

A professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
Strong finance fundamentals and confidence working with financial statements, management information and analysis.
The ability to explain financial information clearly and use it to support decisions.
A commercial mindset and curiosity about how a business operates.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including the confidence to ask questions and challenge constructively.
A proactive approach and the ability to balance priorities across different teams.

Desirable:

Experience in finance business partnering, commercial finance or management accounting.
Experience working with stakeholders outside Finance
Exposure to manufacturing, retail, supply chain, logistics or another operational environment.
Experience in budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis or cost and performance improvement.
