Finance Associate
Ealing, West London | £45,000 - £50,000 + Bonus and Benefits
Have you built a good grounding in accounts and want to take on more responsibility? Do you enjoy getting to the bottom of a discrepancy, rather than simply passing it on?
An established manufacturer of safety-critical products is looking for a Finance Associate, to support its UK and international businesses.
Working directly with the Finance Director, you'll combine everyday accounting tasks with investigative work and improvements to financial processes. You'll receive guidance on the company's systems and procedures, with room to broaden your responsibilities as you develop.
What you'll be doing as a Finance Associate:
* Processing expenses, calculating sales commissions and handling inter company payments.
* Preparing and checking UK VAT returns, supporting US sales tax submissions and providing information to German accountants.
* Investigating accounting discrepancies and correcting transactions.
* Maintaining fixed-asset records and improving how equipment purchases, movements and disposals are tracked.
* Completing finance administration, including customer/supplier forms, shipping documentation and employee benefits paperwork.
What we're looking for from the Finance Associate:
You could be an Accounts Assistant ready for a step up or an Assistant Accountant looking for a varied role.
You'll need:
* A practical understanding of UK VAT returns, ideally including imports and exports.
* Confidence working with Excel, financial data and accounting systems.
* An inquisitive approach - you're willing to investigate an issue and suggest a solution.
* Accuracy, organisation and willingness to handle both accounting and administrative tasks.
Formal accounting qualifications aren't essential; relevant practical experience is welcome. Microsoft Dynamics NAV experience would be useful, but system training will be provided.
