Job Title: Finance Assistant

Location: Dungannon

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (flexible start time between 8-10 AM lunchtime finish one day per week.)

Salary: £30k - £40k

We are seeking a highly organized and computer-literate Finance Assistant to join our client’s dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of financial functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a busy office environment who is ready to hit the ground running and take ownership of their responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Management Accounts:

* Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.

VAT Returns:

* Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Financial Analysis:

* Conduct P&L analysis and cost centre adjustments, providing insights and recommendations to management based on financial performance.

Journal Entries:

* Prepare accrual and prepayment journals, as well as overrider accruals, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.

Stock Management:

* Maintain stock records and perform stock workings, including relevant journal entries and reconciliations.

Bank Reconciliation:

* Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.

Financial Reporting:

* Prepare various financial reports and forms, including the Coop turnover form and EU VAT returns.

Intercompany Reconciliation:

* Conduct intercompany nominal reconciliations to ensure accuracy and consistency across accounts.

Year End Audit Preparation:

* Assist in the preparation for year-end audits, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors.

Compliance and Declarations:

* Manage compliance requirements such as TSS declarations, Hydrocarbon Relief, and Diesel Rebates, ensuring all necessary declarations are made accurately and on time.

Requirements:

* Proven experience in a similar role, with strong proficiency in office management and financial administration.

* Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office suite and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).

* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.

* Ability to work independently and manage own workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.

* Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members and external stakeholders.

* A proactive approach to problem-solving and willingness to take initiative in resolving issues.

Flexible working hours within the range of 8-10 AM start time, with the option to finish at lunchtime on a chosen day, as long as 40 hours are completed weekly.
